Bro. Craft Missionary Sponsorship

Dear Brethren,

Greetings from Cadillac Baptist Church. We rejoice to report the blessings of recent events of the past

couple of weeks.

Recently I felt the need to call Bro. Bert Craft to learn of his current status in his transition to a new

sending church and to try to be an encouragement to him. Previously we had not seriously considered

sponsoring Bro. Craft as his sending church, (though the thought had crossed my mind), simply because

we felt that we were too small and financially not able to take on such a responsibility. But during the

course of my conversation with Bro. Craft, he expressed to me his current need of a temporary sponsoring

church as he sought the Lord’s will for a more permanent arrangement with one of the Lord’s churches.

And he expressed to me that financial support was not what he sought from the new sponsoring church,

but the authority to continue the work in Mexico, as well as to take on the responsibility of handling the

funds received from supporting churches.

Bro. Craft then asked if our church would be willing to sponsor him on a temporary time frame of

12-18 months. I then brought the matter to the church, who upon hearing, desired that Bro. Craft come

and present the work in Mexico, as well as make himself available to answer questions of importance

to the church. Bro. Craft, by God’s providence, was visiting at that time a sick relative in Pennsylvania

and was able to come to Cadillac Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at which time he

gave testimony of the work of God in southern Mexico and answered to the church’s satisfaction all

questions concerning his stedfastness to “the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” as well as

his faithfullness to the fulfillment of the church’s commission.

The following Sunday, March 4, 2012, the Cadillac Baptist Church unanimously voted to extend an

offer to Bro. Craft to be his sponsoring church for as long as the Lord so led.

The following Wednesday, March 7, 2012, Bro. Craft, and on behalf of Sis. Heather Craft, (after

thoroughly studying the Articles of Faith, Constitution, and Covenant of Cadillac Baptist Church and

giving testimony of their repentance of sin and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, as well as their scriptural

baptism at Newby Baptist Church of Richmond, KY, and of their good standing as members of Faith

Missionary Baptist Church of Paducah, KY) asked by email correspondence to be received into the

membership of Cadillac Baptist Church. That evening Wednesday, March 7, 2012, upon the hearing of this

request, the members of Cadillac Baptist Church unanimously voted to receive Bro. Bert and Sis. Heather Craft

into its membership upon reception of letters of transfer from Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Paducah, KY.

We, therefore, earnestly desire your fervent prayers for us as we take on the wonderful and yet fearful

responsibility of being the sponsoring church for the Craft family and the continuing work of God to the people

of southern Mexico. Please direct any questions for myself to or for questions

concerning mission support for the Craft family to

Love in Christ,

Ryan Austin, Pastor
